We're Getting Married... Finally.. ;)

On September 2nd, Rich and I hiked to our favorite waterfall, where he proceeded to drop to one knee and propose! I, of course, said yes! Alot has happened since then, and there is still a TON more things that need to be done! As of today, we have picked my wedding ring (it's being finished at the jewelers), I've picked and purchased my dress, it's on it's way! And we had our first round of engagement pictures taken. They didnt come out as good as I was hoping for, but we did get a few that came out great!

~Our date is tentatively October 1, 2011.
~The Ceremony and reception will both be held at Lake Mission Viejo.
~We are trying to plan a smallish wedding and reception (yeah right!) - he has a huge family!
~I am already having anxiety attacks about everything; I guess I should talk to my doctor about that, since it's only going to get worse!

We are so in love, and I am so excited to marry my bestest friend, and start a family with him! I cry just about everytime I think about our wedding day! Hopefully I wont be a big cry baby on the actual day, but who am I trying to kid?! I'll probably have such a puffy face that day! haha

Anywho, our lives are going great right now! We are excited to have Thanksgiving with his family in a few weeks! Rich is going to be turkey hunting this week to hopefully take one for the family dinner! :) Wish him luck!

Here are the pictures that made it from our first photoshoot.. enjoy :)

Summer Garden 2010

We finally got the garden beds prepared for our summer garden! (A big thanks goes out to all the people that donated llama manure, and horse manure/compost to fertalize our beds with!) Here are a few pictures around the garden! I'm going to try my best to blog about my very first garden experience! I'm so excited!

Here are our starter plants. We're going to be planting them in a couple of weeks once we know that there aren't going to be any more frosts!

We are mostly doing a salsa garden, but have also chosen a few other veggies and herbs to include. My sister is using one of the beds to have a cut flower garden as well. Here is a list of our veggie plants:
(The # in front is the amount of plants we got)
1x Chives
1x Cilantro
2x Mucho Nacho Jalepenos
6x Regular Jalepenos
1x Eisley Wax Peppers
1x Numex Sunrise Peppers
1x Limmony Tomatoes
1x Super Sweet Cherry Tomatoes
2x Mortgage Lifter Tomatoes
2x Brandywine Tomatoes
2x Sungold Tomatoes
1x Lemon Cucumbers (if you haven't tried these, they are a must!)
1x Golden Yellow Bell Peppers
1x California Wonder Bell Peppers
1x Red Heirloom Bell Peppers
6x White Onions
1x Sugar Snap Peas
1x Zucchini Squash
Please wish me luck in this new adventure! I've always wanted to do this and the house we live in has given me the perfect conditions in which to start! I love our property and its location! If only we owned this property.. that would make it that much more magical!

This is going to be my new "home"! I'm so excited! I interviewed for the Loan Clerk position on Friday, and early this morning I received the phone call offering me the job! I'm so excited that I'm finally going to be working again! It was a nice break, but I'm ready to be back to a schedule ;) Its also great, my new office is about 3 miles from my house! Easiest commute ever!!

On the Homefront

Updates
There hasn't been much going on with me the last few months.. seriously! I lost my job in the beginning of October.. and still have not had any luck finding a new one. So I get to hang out with my love Richie, and our new little guy, Cowboy, all day long! Pretty lucky huh?!

Cowboy
We got him the day after Thanksgiving. His mama is a black lab, and his daddy is a border collie. He has been such an awesome little guy! He has been very good at training, and listening, and we love having him around! He weighed about 10 lbs when we got him at 8 weeks old. He is now about 17 weeks, and weighs about 30 lbs! We can't believe it! He loves to snuggle between us on the bed, but knows that when we go to bed for good that he has to retreat to his kennel, such a good boy!

School
I just started the spring semester a couple weeks ago here at Folsom Lake College. I got a late registration date so the classes I wanted to take were already filled. I got stuck taking Pottery, and The History of Film. Both have been pretty fun so far. I guess this will be a pretty easy semester!

Overcome Fitness
About mid December Richie signed us up for a new gym that recently opened here called Overcome Fitness. Its a pretty cool little gym that offers many different boxing, ju jitsu, mma, and cardio classes. They also have group personal training sessions too. With our membership I got 6 free one on one personal training sessions, and those have really kicked my butt.. but also they have showed me how to kick up my workout routine to get the best results. It's been hard getting back into the gym after so many months of skipping out! But I'm really glad to be getting back into it! I gotta start now so that I can look ok in a bikini this summer!

Mama & Magoo
A few days before Thanksgiving my mom and magoo (my step dad) called and surprised us by informing us she had moved back to Cali after living in Texas for the last 5 or so years! She lives about 2 hours away from us now so I dont get to see her too often, but I really love having her just a few hours away! Its better than having her a few days away!!

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was awesome! The whole family was here (except for my dads family). Shannon and Eli drove out from Salt Lake the day before and stayed the whole weekend. Our meal was amazing! Richie barbeques our turkey on our bbq grill. It was the best turkey that any of us had ever had! Yum! It was just a relaxing weekend with the people I love the most! I tried to post pics, but blogger has the worst picture uploader ever! I'm gonna do another post that just has pics from our Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone is having a great 2010 so far! I hope to be working within the next month sometime! I really hope I can find something! Wish me luck! :)

Tough Times Makes Us Stronger People!

I love this season. It is my favorite. However.. I feel like I cant enjoy it as much cause so many other things aren't going my way. I lost my job last Friday, due to the position being eliminated. I wasn't happy at the job anyways.. but it's never fun to lose a job with nothing else lined up already. I've spent the last week searching, applying, hoping for ANY job to come along. I'm not being picky right now! I just want anything that will put some money in my pocket. Hopefully I hear back from at least some of the 30 jobs I've applied for in the past week.

On another note, I dropped my laptop a few nights ago, on the hard wood floor.. three steps forward and I would have been in the carpeted bedroom.. but nope.. it hit hard wood. It hit the floor and I screamed an obscenity, picked it up, put the battery back in and it booted right up! Thank goodness.. however when the screen lit up I saw the damage. My LCD is a little messy looking in the right hard corner. It has gotten a little better over time, but it is still ugly. At least the computer still works and I can see everything on the screen. Then on Sunday morning my external hard drive decided that it doesn't want to work anymore.. it keeps telling me that I need to format it to fix the partition. WTH??.. I will not format my 800 gigs of personal photos, my whole music library, and hundreds of movies! I have the product replacement on it, so I need to find someone that can take all the info off of it, and transfer it to a new hard drive. This is all stuff that I don't really have the funds to get fixed right away. Yikes!

Mine and Richie's birthdays were last week, he is 29 now, and I am 24. I really cant believe I'm 24 already! It was also our 4 Year Anniversary. It was really hard not to be able to be with him for all of these special days. We've never been apart for them. This whole "him being away for months at a time" is such a learning experience. It has made our relationship so much stronger.. but it is the hardest thing for both of us to handle! We are each others best friend, and we would spend every waking moment together if we could. We cant wait until he gets to pack up all of his stuff from the barracks and bring it all home, to our house, so that we can get on with being a normal couple with a normal life and work schedule. November 7th is the tentative date that he will be getting to come home. So a little less than a month left until we are back in each others arms for good! I cant wait! I miss him sooo much!

Yesterday my sister, her bf Nate, my nephew Aizik, and Nate's friend Scott all went for a little hike down to the fork of the American River. It was such a beautiful day. Not to hot, but sunshine all day. It was a pretty steep hike down.. so I knew coming up was going to be much harder! :) Once we got down closer to the water, there were swarms of bugs.. it wasn't until I noticed what kind of bugs they were that I was relieved. Lady Bugs.. hundreds.. thousands of them! It was so neat! I wish I would have taken my camera.. but I always seem to forget it when I should have had it, and I have it when there aren't really any photo ops, figures. We all had lady bugs crawling all over us. In our hair, on our arms, shirts, legs. It was so crazy, kind of creepy at times.. but really neat! I had never seen that many in one place before! I hope they are still there tomorrow. I want to take Rich over there and show him. He's coming home tonight for a few days! I cant wait to see him!!

Not much else is going on around here. Just trying to stay positive and optimistic.

PS - I cant wait for Thanksgiving! My sister Shannon, and nephew Eli are coming to see us! I miss them soo much!! Plus I love Thanksgiving food! YUM!
